First Baptist Church Orlando Global Mission Team returns to The Baptist College of Florida.

For the past nine years, Global Mission Teams from the First Baptist Church (FBC) of Orlando, Florida have volunteered their time, energy and skills at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville. They arrive on campus each year around the first or second week of June to offer a helping hand and pray over what God is doing at BCF.

The entire BCF family waited with excitement as the group of 60 volunteer workers arrived on campus this summer, led by Jim Wortham. The annual BCF mission trip for FBC Orlando consists of incredible amounts of hard work, sweat, and love poured into the College during the week long mission trip.

The definitive vision of FBC Orlando has remained the same over the years as volunteer construction workers, electricians, teachers, Sunday School workers, worship leaders, moms, dads, grandparents and young people, from all walks of life, come together for one purpose - to bring glory to God and see lost people saved. They genuinely believe their work and efforts at BCF has a ripple effect throughout the world. As they work doing things the school would normally have to pay to have done, the money saved on labor and supplies can now be used preparing more men and women for service and sending more students and faculty on mission trips throughout the world.

After traveling the five hours from home, the group divides up and bunks in the student residence halls on the BCF campus. Over the years, entire families have taken part in this unique mission's opportunity and lifelong friendships have developed between church members and the BCF family.

This year's mission projects included cleaning and painting Smith Hall, one of the men's residence halls, cleaning and painting apartments in married housing, and pressure washing some of the apartments where families will live as they are studying and preparing for areas of ministry. The volunteers finished placing a chain-link fence around the new recreational field, trimmed hedges, and worked inside the Student Center.

The mission of FBC Orlando, "A Passion for God, A Passion for People, A Passion to Serve" is being lived out by its members through their servant hearts and actions. They willingly and sacrificially refresh and polish the BCF campus each summer getting it ready for the next semester and all of the new challenges.
