Thank you First Baptist Church of Orlando Mission Team!

For the past ten years, the First Baptist Church (FBC) of Orlando's Global Mission Team has dedicated time, energy, talent, sweat, and prayer support to The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville, Florida. Coordinated by a man with a heart for what BCF students are doing, Jim Wortham, a.k.a. "Mr. Graceville" as his friends have called him, and his wife Pat have been leading the mission trip for the past several years.

Every year, around the second or third week in June, the mission team offers a helping hand and prays for what God is doing at BCF. Their heartbeat for the students in Graceville is evidenced by the way they speak of their adopted home. According to Wortham, the money saved by the team working on campus allows BCF the opportunity to channel more resources for student scholarships and ministry projects.

FBC Orlando members have volunteered hours upon hours of service as they painted and prepared Napier hall, installed soffit and facing in Lake View dorm, painted outside Lakeview Court, trimmed shrubbery all around campus, replaced crepe myrtles in Heritage Village, built downspout run-off around the student center, replaced grill filters, cleaned out the garage in East Lake, and removed carpet and paint in Brackin-Chandler dorm. They did all of this with a smile on their faces and God in their hearts.

Having dedicated ten years of serving those who work and live at BCF, these forty plus volunteers have made their love for God apparent through their actions. FBC Orlando's mission team travels around five and a half hours to the campus each year. At the end of each long workday, they come together for devotion and prayer before resting in the student residence halls.

The vision of FBC Orlando is simple: volunteer construction workers, electricians, teachers, Sunday school workers, praise leaders, moms, dads, grandparents, and young people, working to enhance the physical surroundings for the students who are preparing to "Change the World through the Unchanging Word®". Their vision for service comes straight from Word of God and their motto, "A Passion for God, A Passion for People, A Passion to Serve."
