BCF Professor Ron Branning conducts the Tri State Community Orchestra at the 5th Annual Patriotic Concert in Headland, AL.

Terrific music and a spirit of patriotism were in the air on Thursday, June 30 as Professor Ron Branning from The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville directed a portion of the Tri-State Community Orchestra's (TCO) 5th annual patriotic concert on the square in Headland, Alabama. Sponsored by Renaissance Headland, a non-profit organization dedicated to the beautification of the Headland Square and promotion of the arts, the TCO performed crowd-pleasing songs including the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean, and patriotic favorites like "God Bless the USA" and the "Armed Forces Salute." Not only did Branning conduct the TCO, but several BCF students performed in the orchestra, and BCF alumnus and employee Barol Bailey performed as the guest soloist in "God Bless the USA."

The Tri-State Community Orchestra, established in 1995, is comprised of musicians from around the area. These musicians, performing on strings, winds, and percussion donate their time and talent to enhance the cultural arts movement within the region. Moreover, the TCO offers cultural and educational opportunities to the area youth through its outreach program, the Wiregrass Youth Symphony Orchestra. The TCO has a history of collaborative efforts with community organizations such as Renaissance Headland and The Baptist College of Florida in Graceville.
