BCF First Lady delivers home-baked goodies and love to the campus.

Nothing brings excitement to the faces of college students like a check in the mail, a phone call from home or home-baked goodies. The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) First Lady Ruth Ann Kinchen is very aware of this as she strives to lift the spirits of students on campus by providing homemade treats straight from the oven.

A day which should be highlight on the calendar in the college catalog is that special day during each semester known as "Cookie Day." It is particularly meaningful to returning students as they look forward to it each semester and something special for new students to enjoy as an abundance of home-made goodies are delivered to the campus solely for the their enjoyment.

This semester Kinchen, assisted by BCF Adjunct Faculty Gail Floyd, arrived on campus with containers filled to the brim with home-made goodies that included chocolate chip cookies, snicker doodles, brownies, and peanut butter cookies.

According to Kinchen, many of the students are living away from home for the first time, and maybe a taste of home will help keep homesickness at bay and bring a sense of home away from home. Kinchen stated that she does this every semester because of her immense love for the students and her own memories of being away from home.

To the students, Kinchen is known as the First Lady, the cookie lady and the President's wife. She is also well known for caring for the students and praying for each and every one of them while they are preparing for areas of service and ministry. Her heart is truly as sweet as the treats she delivers.
