Andrew Wilson from Elba, Alabama and Lindsey Pettypiece from Lakeland, Florida were the recipients of the five hundred dollar scholarships awarded at Preview Day.

On November 2, over 170 prospective students and guests roamed the Graceville campus of The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) just to see if that was where God was leading them to continue their education. Some were visiting the campus for the very first time and one family actually drove over 600 miles just to attend the day's activities.

Preview Day registration began outside the student center at 9 a.m. where BCF students had volunteered to decorate tables, greet visitors, hang welcome banners, and compile information bags to provide to potential students. Once inside the student center, prospective students were treated to a cup of coffee and were given the chance to explore all of the various exhibit displays put together by faculty and staff members. The exhibits provided information on degree options, campus activities, mission opportunities, intramural sports, campus ministries, financial aid, computer access, and all of the support resources available to students attending BCF. There was also a photo-booth set up in the student center where visitors could take fun photos with their new friends, peers or parents to remember their special day at BCF.

Classroom visits began at 10 a.m. which allowed prospective students to get a glimpse of college life at BCF. Attendees had the opportunity to visit one of four classroom options which included music and worship, theology and missions, Christian counseling, and teacher education. Campus visitors also had the option of participating in a financial aid seminar led by the BCF Financial Aid Office and Business Affairs.

At 11:00, guests were invited in the R. G. Lee Chapel for a time of worship. Members of the BCF Music and Worship Division amazed the congregation with an inspirational hour of praise and worship featuring the College Choir, Orchestra, Praise Team, Male Chorale, and Women's Ensemble. BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen shared his heart regarding all that the Lord is doing in and through BCF to fulfill the call of "Changing the World Through the Unchanging Word.®"

After worship in the chapel, campus visitors enjoyed lunch and fellowship around the gazebo as the smooth sound of the BCF Jazz Band, led by Professor Ron Branning, set a joyful mood in the atmosphere. After lunch, BCF Resident Directors (Dormitory RD's) led students on tours of the housing facilities while BCF Admissions Counselors Barol Bailey and Samantha Scott guided groups on a walking tour around the campus.

Around 40 prospective students submitted their applications to BCF on Preview Day and had their application fee waived. Two five hundred dollar scholarships were awarded, one to Lindsey Pettypiece from the Lakeland, Florida, and the other to Andrew Wilson from Elba, Alabama.

Plans are already underway for the Spring 2013 Preview Day.
