New BCF Voice Professor Bill Knowles delivers inspirational message in song during the first week of chapel.

The Music and Worship Division at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville is pleased to welcome Bill Knowles as the newest faculty member for the Fall 2012 semester. Knowles and his wife Diana come from Chattanooga, TN., where he taught at Tennessee Temple University since 2006. Prior to teaching at Temple, Knowles taught at Philadelphia Biblical University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Knowles received his undergraduate degree in music from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., in 1980, and his master's degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1983. After serving as Minister of Music at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in Pensacola, Fla., and then Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville, Knowles felt called to further his education and teach music. He began his teaching career as an adjunct voice professor while a doctoral student at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Doctorate in Musical Arts in 2003.

In addition to teaching voice lessons, Knowles will be teaching the other voice related BCF courses to include Anatomy and Physiology of the Vocal Mechanism, Sight Singing, Vocal Pedagogy, and Diction.

"I have always had a high opinion of BCF and its academic expectations," stated Knowles. "My dad actually went to school here." Growing up in Webb, Ala., which is only 45 minutes north of Graceville, Knowles is excited to be close to his hometown.
