Over 200 campus visitors enjoyed lunch together around the gazebo for Preview Day.

Over 200 prospective students and guest were welcomed to the Graceville campus of The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) confirming decisions about where they should continue their education. It was picture perfect weather Friday morning as the campus came alive with volunteers decorating tables, hanging welcome banners, blowing up balloons, and compiling information bags to provide to the college seekers.

Registration began in the R.G. Lee Chapel at 9 a.m. which is where current BCF students gather to worship three days a week. Guests were greeted by the Marketing Team and welcomed by BCF's visionary leader, President Thomas A. Kinchen. Delighted by the attendance, Kinchen shared his heart regarding all that the Lord is doing in and through BCF to fulfill the call of "Changing the World Through the Unchanging Word.®"

Members of the BCF Music and Worship Division overwhelmed the congregation with an inspirational hour of praise and worship featuring the College Choir, Praise Team, and Male Chorale. From the first praise chorus to the crescendo of "My Help Comes from the Lord," it was evident that there was something special about this day.

Faculty and staff members set up exhibit displays in the BCF Wellness Center which included information on degree options, campus activities, mission opportunities, intramural sports, campus ministries, financial aid, computer access, and all of the support resources available on campus. Resident Directors (Dormitory RD's) led students on tours of the housing facilities while BCF Admissions Counselors Barol Bailey and Samantha Scott guided groups on a walking tour around the campus.

Campus visitors enjoyed lunch and fellowship around the gazebo as the incredible sound of the BCF Jazz Band, led by Professor Ron Branning, provided the musical entertainment. After lunch, attendees visited one of four classroom options which included music, theology and missions, Christian counseling, teacher education, or participated in the financial aid seminar led by the Financial Aid Office and Business Affairs.

After classes were dismissed, guests gathered at the gazebo behind the Prayer Chapel where Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) Director Ashley Fredryk was introduced. She shared about the various ministries and mission opportunities that BCM coordinates and offered a word of encouragement to prospective students. Directing the focus on things learned during Preview Day, Fredryk engaged the crowd in a game awarding two participants gifts as they answered questions about the campus and people they met during the day.

Over fifty prospective students submitted their applications to BCF on Preview Day and had their application fee waived. There were twelve BCF alumni on campus bringing their youth or a member of their family to visit the campus. Two five hundred dollar scholarships were awarded, one to Marcia Harper from the First Baptist Church of Pelham, Ga., and the other to Jacob Wimberly from Dothan, Ala., a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Plans are already underway for the fall Preview Day which will be held in November. For more information on visiting The Baptist College of Florida, or becoming a student, please contact the Admissions Office at 800-328-2660 or visit www.baptistcollege.edu.
