BCF Library Workshop participants.

The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville recently hosted the second Library Professional Development Workshop which is part of a series of three workshops held throughout the state of Florida. The workshop convened simultaneously with four other regions of Florida as part of the program made available through the Florida Association of Museums.  Participants of the workshops typically work in or with museums, archives, libraries, and other special collective venues. The purpose of the workshop was to strengthen collection leadership skills, reinforce collection management techniques, discuss policies and procedures, consider actionable plans to preserve collections, draw attention to the importance of collection preservation among officials, and to develop a network of trusted colleagues to call on for collection care. Focused workshop topics included Collection Maintenance and Care, Documentation, Access and Use, and Risk Management and Insurance.

Workshop participants included: Dean DeBolt, University Librarian, Special Collections & West Florida Archives, University of West Florida; Shelby Smith, Collections Manager, Florida Legislative Research Center; Tiffany Baker, Director, Florida Legislative Research Center; Lynne Robertson, Chief Curator, West Florida Historic Preservation; Linda Deaton, Chief Curator at the Tallahassee Museum; John E.
