Three faculty members from The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville presented research papers at Faulkner University's Faith and the Academy conference held in Montgomery, Ala., on Saturday, February 8. BCF English Professor Geoffrey Reiter co-presented a discussion on "Metaphysical Poets in Victorian Literature" with an emphasis on novelist Arthur Machen. BCF Director of Library Services John Shaffett presented a paper on "Faith, Doubt, and Unbelief" and Writing Center Director Deanie DeFelix presented a paper on "Dante's Love Divine."

In support of the BCF team that presented, Adjunct History Professor Beth Minchin was able to attend and participate in all of the activities. Participants took part in a special presentation by David Lyle Jeffrey who is the Distinguished Professor of Literature and the Humanities (Honor's College), Distinguished Senior Fellow and Director of Manuscript Research in Scripture and Tradition Institute for Studies in Religion at Baylor University, and is the Guest Professor of Peking University for Foreign Language and Literature in Beijing, China.

The conference is hosted annually as a venue for graduate students to present papers they have prepared in their various disciplines. Presenters are encouraged to submit their papers to be judged for cash prizes awarded to the top two submissions.
