BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen accepts a mason jar full of water from Senior Class President Bradley Harris during Senior Honor's Day representing the senior class project of a fountain to be placed in Lake Albert.

On Wednesday May 8, graduating seniors, alongside their family and friends, gathered in the R.G. Lee Chapel on the Graceville campus of The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) for Senior Honor's Day. This day is set aside to recognize the graduates who have achieved outstanding academic honors.

Senior Megan Powers led the service beginning with a time of worship, praise and prayer. Senior Class President Bradley Harris introduced the class project and presented BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen with a mason jar full of water to represent the fountain that the 2013 Spring graduating class is providing for Lake Albert.

Kinchen graciously thanked the senior class before delivering a "Star Power" message from Philippians 2. The President mentioned how the world seems to be preoccupied with famous people and the desire to become famous. He mentioned that God has called us to be stars, but stars of a different kind. "Live like a donor and not like a diva," Kinchen stated. He encouraged students to remember what they have received in Christ and to remember that God is the source of their power. "We have the opportunity to be a star for now and all of eternity; to shine bright for Christ," Kinchen said in closing.

Senior Vice President R.C. Hammack recognized seniors who were among the Who's Who Among College Graduates, as well as those receiving honor stoles and earning the highest grade point average in their field of study. BCF graduate Kessler Newsom was presented with the Elizabeth Diane Reasoner Leadership award for her exceptional student leadership, academic achievements, and life's goals, and James Oney Jr., was presented with the Presidential Excellence in Preaching Award.

The service concluded with prayer focusing on the worship songs, "'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus" and Chris Tomlin's "I Will Follow."
