It was a sweet harmonious sound that filled the R.G. Lee Chapel on Thursday May, 2 as the BCF ensembles came together to showcase their voices and instrumental skills. Under the leadership of the Music and Worship Division Chair Bill Davis, The Baptist College of Florida's (BCF) Male Chorale, College Singers, Guitar Ensemble, College Choir, Women's Ensemble, and College Winds presented an inspiring musical concert that featured beautiful musical arrangements.

Thursday evening favorites from the College Winds, directed by Professor Ron Branning, included an Ed Dickenson arrangement of "All Creatures of Our God and King" and a piece titled "Persistence" composed by Richard Saucedo. The Women's Ensemble, led by Professor Buford Cox, showcased a couple of exquisite a cappella favorites such as the Kentucky Folk Hymn "Bright Morning Stars" and Alice Parker's arrangement of "Hark, I hear the Harps Eternal."

The Guitar Ensemble, led by Guitar Professor Jay Erp, performed an Andrew Forrest arrangement of the Iris Folk Song titled "The Coulin" and a guitar arrangement of the famous ragtime piece "Maple Leaf Rag" by Scott Joplin. The harmony of the College Singers, directed by Davis, resonated throughout the sanctuary as they sang "Be Not Afraid" and a Bruce Greer arrangement of "How Beautiful" by Twila Paris. The Male Chorale followed the College Singers with a powerful sound performing Mark Hayes' arrangement of "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and a Dave Williamson arrangement of "O Church, Arise" written by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend. The BCF College Choir took the stage to conclude the evening with an exceptional performance of "At the Name of Jesus" by Cindy Berry.

The skillful and talented ensembles consist primarily of music majors; although participation is open to non-music majors who desire to improve their techniques, further their education in music, or simply to have fun. Each group performs regularly for chapel services and participates in several community events and special programs throughout the academic year.
