The Music and Worship Division of The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville hosted a guitar recital overflowing with talent on Thursday, April 11 in the R. G. Lee Chapel. BCF guitar students have been practicing all semester for the exciting evening event where students performed their own arrangements of many well-known songs.

Guitar major Kyle Boone played a beautiful self-arranged medley of the theme music from the movie Lord of the Rings, and Nick McCarty presented his own arrangement of contemporary favorite, "You Are My Hiding Place." Several classical pieces were performed such as Domenico Scarlatti's "Sonata L. 238" by Brandon Mejias and Matteo Carcassi's "Etude No. 7" by Kevin Greene. The audience listened in awe as the resonance of the strings filled the chapel.

The BCF Guitar Ensemble, consisting of Brandon Mejias, Kyle Boone, Kevin Greene, and Guitar Professor Jay Erp, also amazed the audience with their outstanding blended performance. The group played several favorites including arrangements of "Be Thou My Vision" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee," and classical piece "Walzer No. 15 Op. 39" by Johannes Brahms.
