The finale - Alive Forever Amen.

This year’s Easter Passion Play portraying Jesus’ life from His birth to His resurrection by the Music and Worship Division at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville brought a multitude of emotions on Thursday, March 20.

The premise of the dramatization involved Grampa, BCF senior Terry Mills, telling the incredible story of Jesus to his grandchildren Lisa (Hannah Shaffett) and Billy (Jake Ford). Several other BCF faculty members’ children participated, including Nathan Shaffett, Greta Reiter, and Simon Reiter. As the story was told, it was acted out by an extensive group of students from BCF’s Musical Drama Class to include Calvin Booth as Jesus, and Mary and Joseph being portrayed by Allison Gordon and Jake Beaupre.

Joining the large cast was the College Choir and Orchestra, bringing a heightened element of music that made the night extra memorable. The melodious sounds resonated throughout the Wellness Center, as the greatest story ever told unfolded. The actors delivered their lines with heart-felt passion, as they guided the story toward the cross and the ultimate sacrifice.

The crucifixion scene was one of the most emotional and memorable parts of the night, bringing some audience members to tears as they were reminded of the total sacrifice Jesus made for mankind.

BCF’s Musical Drama Class was responsible for organizing much of the event. BCF Assistant Professor of Voice William Knowles shared a big thank you to the class in the event’s program. He mentioned the way the students worked so well together, unified in “all areas to make this presentation a sacrificial offering to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.” According to Knowles, there was a lot of preparation that went into the performance, including many practice sessions for everyone involved. All of the practice and preparation provided a wonderful night of worship bringing glory to God.
