BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen serves as the auctioneer at the annual Faculty Wives’ Scholarship Auction at The Baptist College of Florida.

The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) administration, faculty and their spouses are known for their financial generosity and prayerful support extended to students. One visible example of that is found in the annual scholarship auction held at the home of BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen and First Lady Ruth Ann Kinchen. The annual Faculty Wives’ Scholarship Auction established many years ago continues to grow having a direct impact on students who would otherwise not be able to afford tuition.

All of the proceeds collected during the recent auction, which is hosted and championed by BCF’s First Lady, is added to the scholarship fund providing financial resources and greater opportunities for students to take classes. This year, the auction revenue totaled $6,310.00 which will be used exclusively for scholarships to students needing assistance. In addition to a fun evening, the annual event is truly one that is near and dear to the hearts of faculty members knowing with just a little help, some students will be able to continue their education.

Some of the auction items this year included specialty cakes and vacation rentals as well as gag gifts from faculty members adding their own sense of style and humor in support of the event. Even though the highest bidders brought home priceless treasures, ultimately students attending The Baptist College of Florida will receive the greatest benefit from the auction. Each semester as students calculate their class expenses, any amount of financial assistance received from the scholarship auction can make a huge difference in whether they are able to take classes.
