The award winning gospel duo Mercy Revealed and students in the BCF Music and Worship Division entertained guests throughout the afternoon.

There were over five hundred people that attended The Baptist College of Florida’s (BCF) annual Holiday Heritage Festival held on Friday, November 20, where guests were greeted by melodious sounds and warm smiles ushering in the holiday season. Many festival guests enjoyed the annual Christmas Musical “A Festive Christmas” earlier in the day before strolling through the village admiring the decorations and the old-fashioned surroundings. The historic buildings were filled with treasures as artisans came to display their handiwork and creative skills. Flawlessly sown quilts, intricately designed pottery, crafted wood carvings and paintings, detailed stone sculptures and fashioned candles, and the expertise of a true blacksmith added the perfect ambiance combined with buggy rides and the sweet smell of cane syrup brewing.

The award winning gospel duo Mercy Revealed performed several musical selections throughout the afternoon, as well as students from the BCF Music and Worship Division providing just the right amount of enjoyable entertainment. Students in the BCF Teacher Education Division escorted elementary school students through the village explaining the significance of the historic buildings and providing some fun activities just for them in the old log cabin.

Adding to the warmth of the traditional holiday gathering, containers of hot apple cider and galvanized tubs filled with bottled water were available throughout the village at no charge. The event was complete with delicious homemade chili, ham biscuits, hot dogs, chicken purlieu, and goodies baked by the faculty and staff wives raising over $1900 to go into the scholarship fund.

Special thanks to the BCF Development Office for coordinating the Heritage Festival and making sure village guests experience the significance of remembering the past and making memories for the future.
