BCF First Lady Ruth Ann and Ms. Bill Floyd delivers trays of cookies and baked goods to the campus!

At the beginning of the semester at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville, students find a sweet surprise awaiting them because of the hard work and kindness of BCF First Lady Ruth Ann Kinchen. This semester on February 25, the First Lady and Ms. Bill Floyd arrived on the campus with large trays heaped over with cookies and baked goods for each dorm and office space. As the news of what has been termed “Cookie Day” spread quickly across the campus, multitudes of students were found gathered around the homemade goodie trays with great anticipation and excitement.

As many college students find themselves continuing their education at campuses away from home, Ms. Ruth Ann expresses her love for BCF students by baking cookies and decorating the campus for the special holidays. Her selfless efforts provide that touch of “home” for BCF students that always brings a smile and warm feelings. “It makes me feel at home, even though I am far away from home,” said BCF Freshman Kristina Jones. “It makes me feel appreciated,” echoed Derek Glenn another BCF student.

“Cookie Day” serves as a nourishing reminder that students are not only loved and appreciated, but also prayed for and supported, as Ms. Ruth Ann and others sacrificially give of their time to provide that taste of thoughtfulness. “Just to see the smiles on the students’ faces makes it all worth it!” Kinchen stated.

Students see “Cookie Day” as another example of how BCF faculty, staff, and their spouses invest in the lives of the students living on campus preparing for areas of leadership and ministry. After a quick picture was taken with Ms. Ruth Ann, Ms. Floyd, and the Resident Directors, the trays of goodies were dispersed throughout the campus for everyone to enjoy.
