BCF Women’s Ensemble on Tour.

On Saturday, April 23, members of the Women’s Ensemble from The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville, set off on a great adventure to share the Gospel through their flawless musical sound. The tour covered over 1149 miles in 5 days including performances at several of the members’ home churches. The Women’s Ensemble is led by BCF Music Professor Buford Cox and musical accompaniment provided by Administrative Assistant Lea Scott.

The first performance of the ladies’ tour was at the First Baptist Church of Flagler Beach, Fla., which is the home church of Women’s Ensemble member Emily Spence. The group performed during the two morning worship services where Spence was able to share her personal testimony. In addition to leading worship, the ladies were also able to help a couple celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary by singing, “Can’t Help Loving That Man!” After a brief stop at the beach just a few blocks away from the church, the ensemble boarded the bus so they could make their way to Central Baptist Church in Melbourne, Fla., to lead worship in the evening service.

The following morning, the ensemble travelled to Apopka, Fla., to perform at a treatment facility for recovering addicts. For this particular performance, the ensemble sang acapella and led worship using a guitar and Cajon. Ensemble member Jasmine Saunders shared the Gospel and her testimony with those in attendance. According to Scott, this particular performance was especially moving and memorable for members of the ensemble.

The next day, the ladies were given an opportunity to participate in an interactive and unique setting as they observed and sang in several choral classes at Osceola High School sharing their music as well as providing information about BCF. That evening, they travelled to Daytona Beach to perform at the Halifax Baptist Associational meeting. On the final day of the tour, the Women’s Ensemble was invited to lead chapel at Peniel Baptist Academy in Palatka, Fla. The last stop of the tour came at River of Life Church in Crawfordville, Fla., which is the home church of ensemble member Allison Beaupre.

“It was a blessing to see parents, grandparents, and aunts and uncles travel to see these young women,” stated Women’s Ensemble Accompanist Lea Scott. “Each day as they shared in devotions, in song, and in ministry, the group formed a lasting bond with each other sharing their hearts. It was a privilege to serve our faithful God with these young women and with Dr. Buford Cox.”
